My Turning Point
After having my thyroid removed, I gained over 40 pounds despite doing all the right things. As a personal trainer, I believed discipline alone would fix it, but true healing required something deeper. I had to address my stress, mindset, and relationship with myself.
I kept pushing until I realized I was breaking myself in the name of health. That was the moment everything shifted.
What I Learned
We have all heard that you can’t out train a bad diet. What I also learned is that you can’t out diet chronic stress. Undereating, overtraining, and constantly doing more eventually work against your body, no matter how disciplined you are.
The more I focused on my body image, the more negative I became. When I shifted to appreciating what my body could do, embracing community, and seeing the good in my life, true wellness followed. That shift changed not just my health, but how I live.
